The "Write" of Spring - MONDAY EVENING

$999.00

Dates/Times: May 6th - May 29th, 6 - 8 pm ET

*final class meets WEDNESDAY evening.

Plant the seeds with me this Spring for the story you’ve been meaning to tell. This interactive, four week workshop is for those who are just getting started, are early in the process or aren’t sure how to navigate the road ahead. Ruthie will offer prompts to help spark those slivers of memory and inspire you to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard). She will push you to turn off the voice in your head telling you you’re not a writer, and get you outside of your comfort zone. Alongside Ruthie, you will do generative writing exercises to help you find the story beneath the story. The magic will happen with the accountability, support, and feedback of a tight knit group of likeminded writers who you can talk through issues and stumbling blocks with and test out new ideas.

You will walk away from this class with writing that could be used for an essay, a book or even just to explore where you want to take your ideas. Get ready to grab your shovel, roll up your sleeves, and break new ground.

Ruthie’s not only an accomplished editor, she’s a writer too. You can find her essays in Vogue, Glamour, O Magazine, The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Salon, Slate, Newsweek, and more. Most recently, she was the Deputy Editor at ForbesWomen.

What You Will Walk Away With

• Prompts that will inspire you to pour your heart out on the page.

• Readings from some of the top authors working today so you can practice different structures and techniques to take your writing to the next level.

• Feedback from both Ruthie and a tight-knit community of peers.

• A sounding board to talk through your ideas.

• An accountability partner to keep you on track with your writing goals.

• An invitation to my community of writers for resource sharing, edit exchanges, book/essay recommendations, first dibs on future classes and so much more
